What happens to my mail when the address expires?

Everything is deleted. When the countdown reaches zero, the address, its inbox, every message and every attachment are removed from the database. There is no archive, no grace period, and no way for anyone — including us — to bring them back.

What deletion means in practice

• Mail sent to the address after expiry bounces; the sender gets a delivery failure.
• Verification links in old messages stop working — the account behind them can't be confirmed through that inbox.
• Password resets sent to the expired address are lost, which is why recovery-critical accounts need a real inbox.
• No data remains for anyone to read, request, or leak — deletion is also the privacy feature.

How to prepare for it

1. Copy out anything you need the moment it lands — codes, download links, license keys.
2. Download attachments while the address is alive; they're erased with everything else.
3. Extend early if the task is dragging: “Extend 10 min” stacks without limit.
4. Discard deliberately when you're done — instant cleanup beats waiting out the timer.

Think of it as a whiteboard, not a filing cabinet: anything you want to keep gets copied off before it's wiped.
